VISUALIZING VIVALDI

Projektil had the honor of creating tailor-made visuals for a breathtaking performance of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons Recomposed by Max Richter. The concert was brought to life by the exceptional talents of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra under the guidance of the masterful Daniel Hope.

With only the music score as our guide, we set out to create visuals that would complement and enhance the composition’s narrative elements. Vivaldi’s score is one of the earliest and most detailed examples of program music, meaning music with a distinct narrative element. It was therefore a natural progression to create a visual context for the piece.

Just as Max Richter reimagined Vivaldi’s patterns and added his own unique twists, we employed simple graphic elements that could be added and repeated to create a layered and immersive experience. Our minimalistic visuals aimed to honor the composition’s intent while adding an extra dimension of sensory stimulation. The end result was a truly unforgettable concert experience that brought the music to life in a way that only art can.
